Although in the Kannabia selection parameters they gave priority to obtaining a rudelaris variety that would give more height, one of the dominant genetic characteristics of Mataró Blue is how short it is, which explains why some Mataró Blue Auto plants may be quite short while others are bushy. It develops more slowly during the growth stage, although it will ripen correctly within 65 days with photoperiods of 12/12 and 14/10. Its Mataró heritage is also responsible for the production of masses of trichomes that cover the flowers and leaves, turning the plant an amber colour during flowering, with a bluish shade if it is subjected to controlled periods of cold. The yield is medium, so you can expect 20 - 30 g/plant indoors and quite a lot more outdoors, 65 - 70 grams or so. The flavour is fermented fruit with mildly earthy notes.
